Bharatpur (Chitwan): In a rare and unusual event, a domestic buffalo owned by a farmer in Manahari, Makawanpur, has killed a tiger that strayed from Chitwan National Park (CNP).

The buffalo, belonging to Bal Bahadur Rai of Manahari Rural Municipality-6, Pratappur, fatally wounded the tiger, which had attacked it earlier today. The injured buffalo managed to retaliate, leading to the tiger's death.

Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the Information Officer for CNP, confirmed the incident, noting that this is the first time such an occurrence has been reported within the park and its surrounding buffer zones. "The deceased tiger appeared old and emaciated, likely driven out of the park in search of food due to its inability to hunt," Tiwari stated.

The tiger's body has been transported to the National Park for a post-mortem examination.
